Q. What about duty, tax along shipping to me?
A. Usually we send every parcels as GIFT indicated on custom declaration.
We also include Repair Invoice and indicate low price for decrease custom tax. In 90% of cases it works and you'll not pay any custom/state duty or tax.

A. If a unit is available, then we send it within 48 hours from the moment we receive your payment.

Q. How long would it take to get the ARAX MLU/SE?
A. We upgrade the Special Edition (SE) camera and test it during 7-14 days after receiving your payment and then we send it to you immediately via Regular or Express Airmail.

Q. How long will it take to deliver the parcel to the USA?
A. 7-15 days if it is delivered via Regular Airmail for USA, Western Europe, Asia. 3-5 days for Express Airmail (EMS).

A. If you have paid the amount of risk, then you are assured against both money and goods loss. We recommend insuring your parcels.

Q. If I buy one of your cameras, do I have to pay any taxs or duties? What about sending it like a gift?
A. I can't tell you exactly, but about 96% of our shipments have arrived without problem when using EMS express airmail. Calculate your country's shipping cost here. We indicate GIFT on customs form and include a REPAIR invoice with all camera kits to show customs that you didn't buy it but only had it repaired.

Q. Why don't you use a PayPal?
A. PayPal does not work with Ukraine and other former USSR countries. Or works with many limitations. But we have a partners in USA and Europe who accepts payments for us via PayPal with additional 5%.

Q. How can I find out is my camera real ARAX or fake?
A. All real ARAX cameras comes with ARAX nameplate. Very rare, maybe 3-5 pcs in year according buyer request we made the ARAX cameras with original KIEV name plate. To know is it true ARAX, you should ask the original ARAX warranty card with the serial
number of camera and my own signature. You should know that any ARAX gears sells with our one year warranty card and mandatory my own natural signature. Without exception. No scan, no any form of electronic signature. The natural normal signature made by Parker or Fisher Space Pen.
Some of sellers, dealers even "official" and "exclusive" uses
our pictures, descriptions, ideas etc. Please note, that we not responsible

Q. Why doesn't ARAX sell it's products via other regional or national distributors?
A. ARAX Cameras are by their nature limited production, custom order items. Each buyer has unique requirements. Therefore, every ARAX made already has an owner. Completed cameras are not kept in inventory as in most higher-volume mass produced businesses. This is the only way to maintain the superior quality of our product. We have the best technicians in Kiev and they can only produce a finite quantity of ARAX cameras without compromising the quality of the product. ARAX maintains it's fast delivery and outstanding customer service without the cost of intermediaries, which would have to be passed on to the consumer.

Q. How do you receive money in the USA, if one lives in Ukraine?
A. There is our partner's account in the USA, whom you can pay for the goods in a way the most convenient for you. In this case you must add 10% to the total cost.

Q. What is the difference between the ARAX MLU cameras and the new ARAX-CM MLU models? How about reliability and precision?
A. Generally the KIEV-88 (the base camera of the ARAX and ARAX-MLU) has a more robust and reliable internal mechanism as it was produced for years and years on the same line and the quality naturally increased during the production run.
The KIEV-88-CM (the base camera of the ARAX-CM and ARAX-CM-MLU) represents the latest factory product and as a result has been been found to have a few more issues to address when compared with the more mature KIEV-88.
This is not a concern to ARAX purchasers because both camera lines undergo the same rigorous upgrade and testing process before earning the ARAX nameplate.
Basic factory price of Kiev-88 and Kiev-88CM is different, therefore the prices of ARAX and ARAX-CM series also different.
Both ARAX and ARAX-CM systems offer fantastic value and performance to the photographic craftsperson. And as always, all ARAX cameras are known for their compatibility with the largest world wide selection of renowned Carl Zeiss optics.

Q. What is the difference between the Pentacon-Six twist-lock mount and the Pentacon-Six breech-lock mount?
A. Functionally - no difference. Both camera series successfully accepts most of the lenses with Pentacon-Six mount. Only the camera mount installation ways is different. The twist-lock installed by ARAX most skilled technicians, the breech-lock - already installed on factory but also upgraded by our technicians. So, as a result - both mount are upgraded and has top quality. Someone prefer the vintage quality 88 series with twist-lock mount, others - the recently produced 88-CM with breech-lock mount.

Q. Do you modify Kiev-88 cameras or film backs to make them compatible with Hasselblad?
A. No. It is not so good idea to mix accessories with moving parts of different cameras. The correct, high quality operation of the camera is guaranteed ONLY if you use the film backs of the original
manufacturer. You can use only the viewfinders on Hasselblad. There has no moving parts and fully compatible with Hasselblad.
